[TOS #5, again] From: Any 3rd party plug-in to control special effect

there are some soundcards out there that come with bass boosters.
for example, the creative soundcards come with the THX console that lets you add up to 12dB as low as 10hz
the auzentech soundcards also come with the same THX console.
more soundcard companies need to take note to the need for equalization below 30hz
and they might argue that the speaker box is ported at 30hz or 40hz and that leaves room for the speaker to flap back and forth freely because of less air pressure inside the speaker box at frequencies below the box and port tune.

i've got two 12 inch woofers in a box ported and tuned to about 28hz and they benefited from a 10hz boost to make the lowest end of the frequency response more flat with the rest.

people are becoming more wise about flat frequency responses because they are watching movies at home instead of a the theater, and they are learning where their speakers fail, and most of the time it is simply because they havent adjusted the equalizer correctly.
then when there is an equalizer there to make adjustments, it doesnt always fill all the needs.
the sub bass below 30hz is a seriously common area of need.

think about the thousands of bass boosts stuck at 40hz
nowadays that boost needs to be lowered to 20hz or 10hz
