EAC finds suspicious positions by looking at the drop in read speed, i.e. it measures the time it takes to read sectors.
If a drive caches audio then it would not give different re-reads, i.e. no red light dots in secure mode
If "Read Error" does not appear, try again with another scratched CD, or assume the drive DOES cache audio data.
