He wrote the code for it and it's not open-source, if that's what you mean.

I need to report a bug/crash that I found while using the plugin. Is Veksha still active on these forums?

Can I report a bug/crash for MultiSource Plugin on this thread? Will it be seen?

This would be the best place to report it.  You could also send a message to him with the report.

There isn’t much activity on LSP3 or Multi Source, so don’t expect quick responses.

@Veksho

I'm having issues with the foo_multisource 0.56 component.
My install is foobar 2.2 x86 always newest beta running foo_ui_lyrics3 0.6. Also newest c++ runtime library versions 14.40.33810.

Lately I have increasing crash errors upon exiting foobar and almost always having visual c++ runtime errors while starting foobar which mostly only runs after trying to start 4/5 times in a row. It was kind of acceptable for me because I'm always testing (maybe less stable) stuff, but now the amount of crashes were becoming unbearable.

So today I started debugging by removing one component after another to isolate the cause for this almost constant startup bug. After having removed some 20 different components including foo_ui_lyrics3 (actually the third one I removed), I removed foo_multisource and all of a sudden I did not experience exit or startup errors anymore.

I reloaded my full skin including foo_ui_lyrics and multisource and back where the exit/startup errors.
Then I removed foo_ui_lyric3 but kept multisource ... still exit/start crashes. After removing multisource no more errors.

Reloaded full skin one more including foo_ui_lyrics and multisource and back where the exit/startup errors.
Then removed multisource but kept foo_ui_lyrics3 ... no errors.

Please investigate

veksha : greetings and I hope you are still interested in tweaking foo_multisource 2.1!  It appears that the "Deezer" source has been broken for a while, could you fix it?  Also, would it be possible to add "LRCLIB" (lrclib.net) to your API-based search sources?

Thanks for your attention and any help!

Hey. I recently switched into 64bit foobar. I got crashes every time I try to play a song when last version Lyric Show Panel is installed (no foo_multisource nor foo_quicksearch, yet there are other plugins) (problem is gone when deleted LSP), and also every time I try to get to Associations Search Properties (Preferences/Tools/Lyric Show 3, click on Associations Search on list of Search Order and click on Properties button below).

Has this problem known solution? Or maybe there is something in report that i.e point what any other plugin cause a problem with LSP?

Below are reports. 142 is for clicking properties of Associations Search situation, 143 is for try to play a song.

Just wanted to follow up on this. There is something wrong with the 64bit version of this plugin. I am having the same issues as bloniaq. So I decided to install the 32bit version of foobar2000 just to try the 32bit version of this plugin and it works fine without issues. Is it possible the 64bit .dll isn't properly compiled? Like maybe some part of it is still 32bit  or expecting 32bit data so when it calls the properties for Association Search in the 64bit version it crashes.

Not saying this just to be a "contraire", but I've been loading LSP 3.06 into 64-bit Foobar v.2.x ever since it became available, with the foo_multisouce 2.1 plugin as its source and have never experienced a crash.

Lately though I have turned off its autosearch (Advanced tab, search filter=1) to avoid collisions with ESLyric due to the latter's better options and more sources, and will probably uninstall it altogether eventually.  Using ESLyric on autosearch with OpenLyrics as an autosearch-on-demand backup, handle all my radio stream lyrics needs just fine.

People who are having issues with LSP should just move to ESLyric.  Initial setup has more of a learning curve but I've posted some hints over at its Foobar forum.  The developer gives a fast response to problems posted over at its GitHub site. Version 1.0.0.25 ("alpha") is problem-free here.

I took another look at the LSP 3.06/foo_multisource 2.1 combination I keep tabbed as an option on my lyrics retrieval panel (Foobar 2.24.1 x64) with an eye to removing it due to the multisource developer veksha seemingly abandoning further development, and did some tests hopping around radio stream tracks for about 30 minutes.  I used the "Prefer non-synced" option with auto-retrieval.

I was pleasantly surprised to find hits from its following sources during that short time:

Musixmatch--lots, incl. alternate sources for the same track but different albums; synced stuff would sometimes show up if you kept punching "Next Lyrics"
SongLyrics--as above
AZLyrics--as above
Lolo Lyrics--lonely Lolo did produce a hit!
Metal Archives--going strong!
Bandcamp--produced hits from pages beginning with the band name--this site is "funny" in that occasionally the record label name is used there instead, complicating retrieval.
ELyrics--yes
Music163 (Netease)--often produced synced lyrics at the end of the results

Unfortunately Genius and Deezer have aged off the list and no longer work.  While the combo suffers especially from a lack of access to LRCLIB, I concluded it was definitely worth keep around as a back-up.  My primary lyrics retrieval tool remains the unparalled ESLyric, with its abundance of sources and advanced search filtering tools.

ESLyric 3.06 supports x86 and x64, while foo_multisource 2.1 is 64-bit only.

I only keep LSP 3.06/foo_multisource 2.1 around for bulk searches using musixmatch.  Open or ES can’t bulk search as good as LSP.  I’ve been working with Open to see if he can speed up bulk searching and also  ID the DB the result comes from.

I’d love to remove LSP from too at too, but it still has this essential use case.

While with OpenLyrics the DB is ID'd in its context menu "About current lyrics", it does need an option to display that in the lyrics panel itself.  It would also be nice if a cornerstone DB like Genius could have retrieval fixed within a couple of days instead of just being assigned a "milestone" ID for the next whole version, which could be months away.

I am referring to showing the DB as the lyrics file is downloaded.  I just watch that to verify the source.

Either way, bulk downloading in Open is so slow..  I asked him to speed that up a bit.  In the current release He had a delay to not cause issues with the source DB’s.  There isn’t that delay in LSP and I have never had an issue.

download link for foo_multisource .56 is not available. I am still using 32 bit foobar, since many components does not have a 64 bit version.
Can some one upload a copy of foo_multisource.dll version 0.56?

foo_multisource.dll
0.56

foo_openlyrics works with 32 bit version

Re: foo_uie_lyrics3

You are much better off with foo_openlyrics or foo_uie_eslyric for 32-bit lyric searchers;  neither require foo_uie_lyrics3.  BTW Genius is broken on .56 foo_multisource.

OpenLyrics 1.12 sources (incl new API-based Genius):

ESlyric sources (pt.1):                                                                  ESlyric sources (pt.2):

Minilyrics is dead.  On ESLyric, you need to download modified scripts to use LRCLib and Metallum on radio streams.  I've attached them here.

Hello,

I have an original song and I saved synced lyrics into a "LYRICS" tag in the flac file.
In the properties window I can see the lyrics are there into the tag but if I play the track in FB
no lyrics show up in the panel and if I click on "edit lyrics" it shows "<Enter lyric here>"
after the tag fot title, artist, album and offset. If I copy the synced lyrics into the editor
while the track is playing and exit with OK I can see correctly the embedded lyrics:
what am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
