Playlists in AppData\\Roaming\\foobar2000

Hello everyone,

I've been using foobar for a couple of years now and every time I upgraded version or did a clean install of my OS I kept my Foobar2000 appdata folders so to maintain my usual settings. (Total time played is about 8 weeks  )

In the last few months I noticed that it was getting slower and slower to close, so today I canceled all of the playlists that I found in:

C:\Users\MY USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\foobar2000\playlists

and now foobar closes (very) quickly as usual.

These playlists keep on getting created in the folder every time I close foobar, why? Is there a way to modify this behavior?

Thnaks

Have you tried to just  delete them from within the foobar ui?

These playlists don't show up in the UI.

I Uploaded a screenshot of my UI hoping it'll be easier to understand.

Everytime I change the playlist choosing from the list on the right and then close foobar a playlist gets saved in the AppData\Roaming\foobar2000\playlists folder.

This isn't annoying because now that I know that foobar creates these files I can delete them every once in a while, I was just curious and want to know if there was a way to change this behavior.

I am lost. Where in that image are playlists? I only see a folder view of your media library?

There is nothing within the usage of Foobar that will require you going outside of the program and deleting files.

EDIT: Foobar does not hide playlists. Open View>Playlist manager to see what is going on.

I didn't see View -> Playlist manager before, sorry.

Ok I opened View -> Playlist manager and I can see the list. Can I stop foobar from saving these playlists? Since after a couple of years this enourmous list started slowing down foobar when I closed/Opened it.

I am not sure what your workflow is to accumulate unneeded playlists. Just delete them from the playlist manager.

You might want to check the preferences you have set up. Maybe you have set double click action in your album list media view to always make a new playlist instead of simply reusing one single playing playlist. Regardless, just add another tab to your tabbed container that is housing the album list and insert the playlist manager so you can easily do housekeeping.

EDIT: You can also change your playlist element to a tabbed playlist container and add the playlist element to it. That will give you an immediate visual clue that you are having foobar create playlists when you really do not mean to.
