CRC change after retagging ?

hello everyone

this might not quite related to foobar, but there is one things i curious
today i retag a music album, and using hashcalc to check crc32
i found out the CRC32 is different from the original file

then after more checking, i found out
rar crc32 - unrar-ed few weeks ago - unrar-ed today
all have different crc

the only to get same CRC is to set creation time in winrar (before extraction)
so creation time = crc32 different ?
until now i thought CRC32 content only, such attributes not included

if that so is retagging change CRC32 too ?
if yes, then it wont work when we share on torrent then ? as crc32 different from the original ?

i checked, properties file size each file identical
and after testing the mp3, i also didn't find any glitch or different (using sony soundforge)

will be grateful if some willing to share info regarding this

Tags are the content. Creation time is not. Having same file size before and after the change doesn't mean you have the same content.

Of course it was because the file was changed.

Did you use a different application to unarchive on each occasion? Were any of the resulting files changed between extractions?

CRC32 of what? The RAR file? If so, of course it will differ, since an archive is one big piece of content that includes the attributes of files therein.

thanks for the answer everyone

@dv1989

i mostly use winrar to extracting stuff, as i only use winrar as default extracter and 7zip when winrar fail

in winrar you can see CRC32 of each file
as far i know it should give same crc32 for extracted files
