Need your opinions about TraxData GOLD

Hi all.
Reading from various sources about CD-R dyes and reflective surfaces
I've come to the conclusion that probably the best combination is
GOLD reflctive surface + Phatocyanine Dye... manufactured by a good
company (Kodak is assumed to be a real good one for exampe...)

The case is that I've been looking for GOLD / Phatocyanine CDs for a
week in shops, retailers and malls near my home, and the only ones
that I've founded are:

Traxdata GOLD 80 Mins. (Spindles of 25u.)

What do you think about Traxdata's CDRs Quality?
The destination is to backup some works very important to me....
I always thinked that It was a High Quality manufacturer, but last times
I think I've readed some bad reviews about TraxData's products...

Best regards and thanks for you time.

Don't know about gold, don't know who does manufacture them. But read about silvers.  Those Silver Traxdata are the old ones (16x). They had problems. Dying quick on sunlight, very quick. Read about it on cdmediaworld.
For me the best ones are
1. Taiyo Yuden
2. Mitsui
3. Mitsubishi
and Prodisc (as cheap and good)
Didn't ever tried Ricoh but have been told they are as good as 1,2,3.
So who does manufacture GOLD TRAXDATA?
About layers-there are no evidences that silver used by 1,2,3 manufacturer had problems.

Hi, thanks for your help...
Its difficult to know what brands manufacture Taiyo Yuden... I think some Imation, and maybe some TDK...

Another problem I have its my cd-writer, it's a TEAC R55S that is unable to read ATIP-Info from CDRMedia, so no CDR-Identification program works with it

Today at the mall that I've visited I saw several brands...
- Hi-Space (from MPO)
- TDK
- Imation
- MMore (a brand from Bayer Chemicals)
and Verbatim

And the only ones that were GOLD... Traxdata.
I'll made a search in google to see who manufacture Traxdata.

Thanks again.

Hi again.
Looking at http://www.instantinfo.de/ I've founded that
Traxdata GOLD seems to be manufactured by Ritek Taiwn... that makes a lot lot of CDR brands..

I've readed somewhere that in the past their products lack of quality (of ten were medium-low)
but today I think they are considered medium-high quality...

I'll for more info.

According to CD-RW.org, Traxdata is the exclusive name under which Ritek sell their own CDRs. He told me so in a chat when I asked him why Traxdata was inside the manufacturer section in the list linked above.

I also read that somewhere. What about Taiyo Yuden-it's simple, they have frosted inner circle.
I have TY in TDK (REFLEX ULTRA) and in Verbatim (Pastel)
Those Verbatims have trnsparent box so it is possible to detect inner circle.
But beware it seems there are some other brands with frosted circle but they aren't cyanine. So it's very difficult to buy non TY.
About TDK-I have been TDK user and fan since compact cassette era. I always trusted TDK (doesn't matter who manufactures them-if TDK printed it's name on disc it must be ok, it is checked and certified by TDK -I thoght so) but several monthes ago I got 2 completely dead CD-RW just 10-15 days after burning (they were stored perfectly, with other CD-RW. Others are excellent.). CD-RW is very different from CD-R. But 10-15 days - it's a crime
So from now no TDK for me. I use CMC (Philips branded) 12x RW about 6 monthes-and they are very good. 0 errors. But CD-Rs from CMC
