Settings of foobar2000 for Optimal performance.

Hi, everybody. I am a new comer to this forum. I have a question related to foobar2000 v1.0.2.1 . I have recently started to use foobar as my default media player. But I could not set the settings for optimal performance. I am using Crative Soundblaster Audigy value 7.0 (24bit Advanced HD) sound card. So please help me so that I can get the best out of foobar.

From your question I guess that you ask for settings concerning audio quality. If yes, the default settings should sound as good as possible. You can use the equalizer to "tweak" the sound to you liking, but there is no "best" setting. It all depends on your hardware (speaker or headphones) and - mostly - on your sound preferences (e.g. much bass or a dry, "flat" performance).

Thanks for reply. You are right - I am asking for settings concerning audio quality. You suggest to tweak the equalizer settings - But I want some presets. So, please give some presets in order to tweak the Equalizer settings. Anyway thanks again for your opinion.

Use the forum search to find existing threads on this topic (like this one which contains a download link to a collection). But how I said: it is YOU who has to find out how you like your music sound. Those presets are just suggestions made by someone who finds that those settings work for him. They could sound awful for your individual combination of music, playback hardware, ears and expectations. So if you are really interested in finding the "best" settings, there is no other way than trying out and comparing different settings yourself.

The best setting is always a flat EQ with decent speakers. EQ can only (sometimes) compensate what the speakers lack or what your listening room adds to the sound.
EQ presets are useless since they were made on a totally different system with no relation to yours.

But I could not set the settings for optimal performance.
Unless you already know what you need to do to alter the sound to be better, foobar2000 works optimally out-of-the-box. For the most part, changing settings related to audio quality are going to cause a decrease in fidelity instead of an increase in fidelity.
