Empty "index-data" folder created on exit !?

Why does foobar2000 (1.1.5) always creates an empty "index-data" folder inside of the program folder on exit? Happens with no 3rd party components installed.

On my system (XP SP3, User profiles disabled):

C:\Programme\Foobar\index-data\

What's that folder needed for?

That folder is used to store data for the official playcount component and other components that use the storage backend. This backend is provided by the core. If you do not have any components that use this backend, the core still creates the index-data directory in the profile directory. If you have configured foobar2000 to use the installation directory as profile directory, then naturally that's where the index-data directory will be created as well. Is that a problem for you?
