Hmmmm.... this Mausau guy does not seem to care about the (L)GPL.
I can't see, that he's making the changes to the sources of LAME and FAAC/FAAD2 available.
IMHO the copyright holders should write him a mail and ask him to comply with the license.

Decoding...does this mean we can make Audio CD's from OGG files just as easily as we can make Audio CD's from MP3's? Or is there still that additional step of decoding to WAV before burning...

Right, we can now. There's no additional step.

Unlike the older OGG plugin dated 2/24/03, the version below works with the spectrograph display / wavelet display in NERO Wave Editor as well as the Preview Button in Nero Burning Rom. Nice work!

Another querstion: does this plugin support Replaygain? Hate to burn a song to a CD and hear the return of all its clipping glory.

Woohoo! VBR slider for vorbis, very nice...

I love the new mp3 plugin. Much more intuitive than the Fraunhoffer one that came with Nero.

This page should have a "last updated" column or at least version numbers so we know when to update.

FAAD2 is GPL'd, so he should make all sources available, and not only modifications.

Making the Diffs available is enough to comply with the GPL.
The thing is not, if he provides the full sources or just the diffs.
He does nothing.

Huh?

I'm not totally sure, but AFAIK, using GPL'ed code requires you to have your own program under GPL (and nothing else), too, and hence making the full sources available.

(It's quite logical actually - if you used GLP code in a BSD'ed project, someone could just as well take it from the BSD project and do what he likes with it.)

See? That's what I mean when I say the GPL is useless because noone can understand it.

Decode:
- burn audio CDs on the fly from compressed files
- open compressed files directly in Nero Wave Editor

Encode:
- Extract audio from CDs directly to plugin formats
- Encode wav files from Nero Wave Editor.

Hmm... now that we're starting to see non-commercial Nero plugins, I wonder how long it will take before some of the freeware burning apps (EAC, burnatonce, Burrrn) are able to use them?

No one ever answered my question. Does the OGG plugin have replaygain support? Don't want to burn an OGG file to a CD and find all the volumes back to their original state.

No, it does not appear to. Files show the same volume in WaveEditor with or without replay gain tags, and there is no option to enable replay gain upon decoding, so the answer is - no.

In time, FLAC will come. I'm sure he's just taking care of the most popular formats first.

If you want, email him to remind him and link him directly to the source code.

I'm still looking for encoder source code(I already found decoder source code) for MusePack(also known as MPEG-plus/MPC/MPP/MP+). If you have any information on the encoder source code or SDK, please let me know.

I just don't understand why he's so lame. The MPC decoder AND encoder source is availible from Frank Klemm's MPC site. Though the latest encoder source availible there is old, v1.1.
How can he possibly not notice the encoder source is there i have no idea. If he cares at all about MPC or searching in general, he must know this site, apparantly he doesn't.
