Shoutcast in Foobar 2000 - Is there a better way?

Hi All,

I just configured Foobar 2000 for the first time, and am extremely happy with it.  My question is probably easily answered, and it is about Shoutcast.  I've imported all of my Music Files, which show up nicely on the left when viewed "By Folder Structure".  Now, I had created some folders where I had downloaded the ".PLS" files from my local Shoutcast provider, yet, these folders do not appear and cannot seem to be added to my Media List.  To fix the issue, I've created some new 'tabs' beside "Library Viewer Selection" and have loaded the files manually into each one.

Is there a better way to manage my Shoutcast selections?  Personally, I'd love to load the files into a single Shoutcast folder and have them all viewable in the Media Library.  If it can be done, I'm not sure I know how.

Any help?

Thanks!

Rick

Over a hundred views, and nobody has an answer?  Perhaps an opinion?  (Am I simply asking the wrong question?)

i don't know, but what is wrong with having separate playlists for your stations playlists? (foobar won't read them as library items)
they are all playlists (dynamic, yes?) or whatever, you can use playlist tree mod to assign them to view and have some control over it with source assigned to @playlist<some name> or @playlists<some name>, which one suites you
and there is playlist manager, playlist switcher, playlist dropdown, and they depend on you UI: is it Default (yes) or Columns UI and how you can fit them to your need

[edit] well, @playlists<> is for all playlists and i meant @drop</path/playlist.pls>

I might have gotten you wrong, but I assume you are talking about playlists containing URLs to streams you place inside you music library folder.
If this is the case, I'm afraid foobar won't add those to the library, as far as I know. You will have to manage them yourself.

Edit: Seems I'm two minutes too late.

Some are dynamic, but I've also managed to 'right-click' and 'save as' most of them - but yes, you're right.  I can have multiple playlists across the top bar, or utilize the mod that you have there for better control.

No worries!  I appreciate all of the responses!

Cheers

foobar2000 does not come with a SHOUTcast directory browser nor a stream URL manager.
Just create a empty playlist (a new tab as you call it) and put your stream URLs in there. That's what I do.
I have one playlist called "Radio" with all my stream URLs.
