Stereo-Link Stutter Problem?

I was going to buy a Stereo-Link 1200 but at CNet it is mentioned (both by the users and CNet reviewers) to stutter. Did you notice that? Is it an inherent problem with the USB? BTW do you know of a cheap place to buy this gadget in U.S.? Thanks...

My Stereo-Link only ever stuttered on Windows XP before I installed the USB audio patch (which is included in Service Pack 1). After installing this patch, it has not stuttered since. In fact, I don't even have trouble playing games with it!

I bought mine directly from the manufacturer. Think Geek used to have a supply of SL1200s with visual blemishes on the casing that they were selling for US $90-$110. I'm not sure if they still do this or not.

No stuttering here (2K or XP).
