WAV to PCM?

Hello,

I tried AVIDeMux but it freezes on me. I am looking for a freeware tool that can and will encode from compressed WAV to PCM. What are some good XP tools for that encode? Thank you for any help.

Try foobar2000.  It is a Windows program and often considered one of the best (if not the best) audio related programs out there as you can convert from and to many, many, many, many different audio formats.

Assuming you don't mean wavpack, you can just strip the first 44 bytes from the head of the file.  That should be the only difference between a WAVE file and raw PCM.  That said, something like foobar or sox should make the "conversion" easier for you.

How is your compressed .wav file encoded (which codec)?
