.CDI File Extension

Hi

I have two files with .cdi file extension.
Is there a plug-in to play them using foobar2000?

Or is there some utility that can convert .cdi to .wav or a lossless codec such as FLAC or APE?

Thanks

Can you provide more details about these files? As far as I know .CDI files are disk images and you will need to mount or unpack the images and rip the audio streams to a conventional audio format like mp3, ape, flac, etc in order to play them. You might be lucky enough to mount the image as a virtual drive and get foobar to play that drive as an audio cd but good luck with that.

If these files are not disk images please provide more information.

I was told that these were made with Discjuggler; which I do not have. I was also told that there is a utility that can convert .cdi to .nrg (nero Cd image).  But don't know the name for it.

Even if the file is converted to .nrg, will I still have to burn a CDR and then rip it to FLAC or APE to play it in the PC?

Deamon Tools can mount it and UltraISO can convert it to other image format. The first has a free version and the latter is not.

Since I am unlikely to get anymore cdi files, I sill try the Deamon Tools that you suggested.

why don't you try deamon tools and rip the music off with foobar2k if it got correctly mounted??? (then you could delete the .cdi and deinstall DT)

Downloaded a trial version of Padus DiscJuggler. Made a CDR and then ripped to FLAC using CDex.  No errors and sounds great

For the second file I will try Deamon Tools, as recommended.

Thanks guys  :-)

If searching for it, the name is Daemon Tools, though google is often helpful with mis-spellings. It will mount images as if they were a CD so you can then use any CD ripper with the simulated CD-ROM drive it creates when mounted, or Explore any data CDs mounted.
