Burrn & CD Burning Speed

This is question relating to buring speed of Burrn.

I have a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GAS-4165B which supports up to 48x CD Burning. Yet the fastest Burrn will do is 16x, if I select any high it doesn't write any faster and goes way over the estimated time, yet using 16x it's spot on. I know 5 mins. to make an audio cd is still pretty good but I'm just wondering is there any reason why it can't go faster? (I've tried both SPTI and Nero ASPI, no difference.)

Edit: Sorry, already a thread on this, http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....63&hl=burrn. Please delete
