CD burning component 2.0.1 doesn't support Nero 8

i can't use foobar to burn cd's now, it always say can't find nero on my pc.

foobar v0.9.5b3 vista x64

I have nero 8 over here and vista 32, when using this component it finds the recorder like normal. But when burning it just stalls and produces a coaster. Burning to image is fine though.

I've not noticed any problems with the latest beta and Nero 8. It's working for me just as it always has.

OS: Vista Ultimate
Foobar: v0.9.5
Nero: v8.1.10.b

Those are my specs, along with the CD burning component 2.0.1.

Maybe you're using a nero lite version.
Nero lite versions are not official and do not include nero api. And that is what the burning component from foobar2000 uses!

As far as I know there are two version lite and mirco. I think micro doesn't install the api.

As I'm working on the new version, Nero 7.7.5.1 is different than previous updates. The main program is converted to Unicode, but to allow programs who depend on the current Nero API to continue working also the ANSI stuff is installed. To keep NeroAPI working next Nero 7 Lite version would be several MB's bigger to install, a no go for me.
If you use some software that makes use of the NeroAPI please stay away from new Nero 7 Lite versions.

Mine is the official one from Nero, weird. But whatever I just don't use it anymore lol.

i think it was my lite version caused this problem. thank you all

Anyone found a way to make Foobar burn CDs with the "lite" versions of Nero 8?  I want to keep using Nero 8, but I don't want to install all the crap that is now included with it, so I installed the lite or micro version, which have just the burning rom software.  Foobar is (was) my fave app to burn my audio CDs...

AFAIK this is already known by the author, but I don't know if it will be addressed.

Basically, you're fine up to Nero 6. Not guaranteed to work with anything higher.
