Mouse click as 'keyboard' shortcut

First of: I'm a Vista user with a fresh install of Foobar. So when switching from XP I didn't copy my Foobar folder over to Vista or anything.

Foobar works fine on Vista; I have and had no crashes whatsoever.

My mouse is a Logitech MX310, but Logitech has no Vista drivers for this one so it's functioning on the default Vista drivers (» only left/right button and scrollwheel work, clicking the scrollwheel also works).

To the 'problem': under XP I had a shortcut set up; when I middle-clicked a song (so click with my scrollwheel), it got added to my playback queue. When I try to add this as a shortcut under Vista, it does not work. When I middle-click in the "Key" input box the click isn't registered. All my keyboard keys DO register when I click them.

So to put it short: Foobar won't allow a mouse-button as a shortcut in Vista, while it did under Windows XP.

My theory is that under XP it would because I had the Logitech drivers, however I'm not shure: is Foobar designed to also accept mouse buttons as shortcuts or not?

AFAIK I am using the latest Foobar version. These are my installed components:

Just go here to get your Vista driver...

Problem solved all the way around, yes?

Aha apparently Logitech now ahs Vista drivers for older mouses.

However, I still can't assign a mouse click to a shortcut.

Does anyone know: is Foobar designed to accept mouse-buttons as shortcuts?

No. Your mouse driver on XP must have translated a middle-click into a keyboard event.

Ok. I can live with that; at least it's not something I can do anything about

Thanks for the reply.

Won't that driver I pointed you to let you set what each mouse click does, for any specific program?

For example, I run a Kensington Expert Pro Trackball, and the driver lets me translate any one of the clicks into any keyboard event I choose, for any specific program I have installed.  A middle click can mean one thing in one program, and another thing in another program.

Doesn't your driver do this also, I thought that was somewhat universal?

My mouse is a "Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical" (Generic 5-button mouse) and I'm also running Vista.
The mouse button Shortcuts work fine for me...
