ISO visually-based cue sheet generator

Is there any software, such as an audio editor, that allows you to manually create a cue sheet, using the visual representation of the sound wave as a guide?

For example, if I have a live recording whose audio has  been edited to my satisfaction, it seems that the easiest way to manipulate it would be to drop in track start and end flags, which, once complete, could be used to generate a .cue file.

Similarly, if I have a poorly mastered CD, where the track cues are in the wrong place, is there any way of creating cue sheet visually, which would allow me to place the starts and ends in the middle of files.

This might sound a bit obscure, but I could save quite a bit of time if such tools existed.

Thanks!

Also, no matter where you put the track splits, it will always be on the cd sector boundries, so no clicks.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Also, what do you mean "no clicks". My understanding is that CDs are split into 75 frames p/s, but I'm not sure what that means as regards "clicks".

Cheers!

CD sector boundaries are multiple of 588 samples (I think).  If you don't split the tracks on sector boundaries, you end up with small audible clicks between tracks after burning to cd.

Goldwave and Wave Repair will let you do this also.

I'm not sure about the aligning to sector thing, but you would presume so.  The benefit is that you can zoom in to get a very accurate position.

I can't say for Goldwave, but I can confirm the following for Wave Repair:

1. Yes, it puts cue points on sector boundaries.
2. You can add index points as well as track points (ie. you're not limited to INDEX 01 cue sheet entries, as you are with CD Wave).
3. CD Wave has a much simpler interface and is easier to use than Wave Repair.
4. If you only want to use Wave Repair for cue sheet generation, then it's free. (CD Wave and Goldwave are about $15 and $40 respectively, I think).
