How to remove a volume limiter

Hi all, in past few days my Creative Muvo V200 player started acting strangely (when you tried to adjust the volume, it would either turn off or do nothing). I downloaded a new firmware on it, problem solved. But now there's another problem: the volume is really bad limited, it is actually not enough e.g. when on a bus or train, or on a busy street.
Does anyone know how to remove the volume limit??, it is so bad
thanks!

I don't know how to remove the volume limiter.  But have you considered different headphones?  In a noisy environment the best thing is to have headphones that block out noise rather than just turning the volume up on headphones that let in noise.  The latter is more likely to lead to hearing loss.

Anyway, sorry I can't answer your question directly, but I thought I'd put out the headphone suggestion.

Yes, I have considered buying some noise-isolating ("canal") phones, but the problem is that my ears get dirty quite fast and I would have to clean them maybe twice a day for my phones to not get dirty.

Why is the volume so quiet on my MuVo?

Did you buy it in Europe? If so chances are that you have the "volume limited" European firmare (mandated by European law).

Head on over to Nomadworld.com and get the International firmware which doesn't have this stupid limitation.

thanks Big_Berny, this sounds like reasonable thing to try, but where can I download the International firmware? I went to Nomadworld.com which redirected me to Creative.com, but I cannot find such a thing as International firmware.

Yes, I see... Maybe you should just download the firmware from a country which is not in Europe. In America the V200 seems to be unavailable but in australia there is a v200-firmware. No garantee that it works! (but it should)

btw, with the new firmware you can't record FM anymore.
