foo_audioscrobbler (outdated) crashes on Vista

After a couple of songs have played or sometimes more, it seems like a bit of a random bug in terms of how many song I can get through before a crash but it always happens none the less. I'm running Vista Business Edition with my work machine with a horrible soundmax onboard bag-o-shite.

I get an Unhandled exception : bad allocation

I'm running the following plugins

foo_ui_columns
foo_msnalt
foo_browser
foo_audioscrobbler

as for output will i'm using the default output for my soundcard, it also does it if I use the kernel streaming plugin too.

I'm using foobar 0.9.4.2

I have been having the same problems - but haven't really been able to pinpoint the exact cause. Are you really only using those components ? My foobar has been stable since I got rid of foo_winampspam, the single columns playlist and the modified trackinfo panel - but since the error is so random, I am not sure if I would call it rock solid yet.

Windows Vista Business here too.

Yup i'm really only using those, and the components that come as standard with foobar, but its just playing music that gives me the issue. I haven't tried it without those components as I can't be doing without a artist and album browser. I don't use any other plugins.

I'm using Vista Ultimate and foobar is running fine...the key is to use the very latest version of columns_ui and only use components recompiled with the latest version of foobar (0.9.4.2.) Heres my list of components.....some arent fully tested but the important ones like single_column_playlist and trackinfo_mod etc are running perfectly

forget kernel streaming though.....vista's audio handling is completely different from xp and you can use the inbuilt mixer to isolate foobar sounds if thats your wish.

Hope this helps

I have tried setting up a foobar with the components updated to the latest versions, but with those I just listed I can reliably reproduce a crash when I change tracks very fast with the mouse (I get a metadb-handle leak and then the bad allocation error) and if I just let it run then it will randomly crash on me after a seemingly random amount of songs. I think it never crashes into a song but only on song changes, but I am not entirely sure here. Any ideas ?

playlist dropdown is incompatible....that seems to be the only problem i can see. Maybe a trial and error to see which components are causing the crash is in order

Well i don't use the dropdown playlist so can I just delete it? actually just noticed I don't have that plugin, i bet its the audioscobbler thats causing my issues

audioscrobbler is the cause of the crashing as its hasn't crashed since i removed it, shame really.

I get an Unhandled exception : bad allocation

I'm running the following plugins

foo_ui_columns
foo_msnalt

I'm using foobar 0.9.4.2

same here, Vista Ultimate.

as i removed foo_browser (new version that compiled with the new SDK), everything works.
i guess that the problem is foo_browser...

Audioscrobbler definitely causes that problem, I think it hasn't been recompiled with the newest SDK. Is the author around these boards ?

Make sure you use the latest Audioscrobbler, which is 1.3.5.
Also update foo_dbsearch, new one works good on Vista, thanks foosion.

Update all you can find. The only one that doesn't work now is dropdown.
