[TOS #8] split from "Why does foobar sound so clear"

You know, you can also make yourself believe that all players sound the same, which is not true.  Really, Foobar, to me, sounds thinner but more clear and crisp than Winamp.  I really do hear the difference.  If you actually have a good set of headphones and a relatively nice sound card, you can notice that Foobar's bass is a little lacking, but Winamp sounds murky in comparison.

Further, I was playing music with Foobar for someone, and they told me it sounded shallow.  When they came back into the room, I had already switched my player to Winamp, and the person said, "oh, you brought the bass up, huh?"  I did nothing, and they are both using ASIO with no DSP or equalizer nonsense...  I love the depth of Winamp, but I hate lack of clarity much more!

...anyways...just had to back up the original poster.
