Burrrn not recognicing my external CD-RW drive?

This SW Burrrn 1,14 B2 works like a dream om my Win XP Sp2 Dell, with the internal CD-R drive, but that one is soon to give up. So I bouhgt an external, USB LG drive instead, but Burrrn wont see it. Works in all other SW ive tried, Nero, EAC and so on.
Is this due to the fact that Burrrn uses cdrdao, and that only, and my recorder doesnt support that?

I have the same problem with my Sony DRX-810UL external DVD/CD Rewritable Drive (using a FireWire connection).  Burrrn 1.14 beta 2 works fine though with my HP DVD Writer 200j internal DVD/CD burner.
