Split one image into several .wav-files

Hi,
i would like to know if the following is possible (using EAC of course):
I want to rip a CD-image and split it into the track - so every track of the CD is one wav-file.
But i want to keep the possibility to put them together again to the complete CD (which has got the ORIGINAL Layout of the CD i ripped them from)
Is there any way to create a .cue-sheet and several .wav-files and does this preserve the original CD-layout though the CD is splitted into several .wavs?

Rip it as an image, ie., cue sheet and single wave file. Then you can process the image using the cue sheet to spilt the image into individual tracks (all within EAC, of course!!  ). So you will end up with a wave file of the whole CD, plus individual wave files comprising each track.

What option do i need to select to split the .wav-files using the "settings" of the .cue-sheet?

When i want to burn the CD at once do i need to join the .wav-files together before i burn?

Use the Image icon on the left of the EAC screen to create the single wave file with cue sheet. You can burn that directly using the Write icon, also on the left. Then Select 'Tools -> Split WAV by cuesheet' to split the wave file to the individual tracks. You will end up with the one large wave file that is an image of the whole CD, and 'n' smaller wave files, one for each of the 'n' tracks on the CD.

Do you have to rip the CD as an image with an image cue sheet? EAC can rip a CD in to multiple wav files and create a cue sheet that preserves the CD layout (it is a bit more complicated though).

Hi brimstone, I personally prefer the method john33 outlined in the second post ie, Rip as single wave file and create CUE sheet, and then split the single wave into multiple waves with gaps corrected. I think that the original layout of the Audio CD is preserved better this way. Of course, this could just be another of those anal ideas  . However, I have not had any problems using this method. So, I follow it to this day!!

Hope this helps in making a decision.

It's a completely valid method but you would get the exact same result by ripping as multiple wav files with gaps appended to next track and then creating an image cue.

There are three ways to get EAC to rip all data from a cd (index based copying excluded).
- Image
- Multiple wav files with gaps appended to next track
- Multiple wav files with gaps appended to previous track on CDs with no first track pregap.

To recreate the CD layout you will have to use the cue sheet native to the ripping method or multiple files can be joined to an image and used with an image cue.
