does flacgain (like mp3gain/aacgain/etc) exist?

hi --

disclaimer: yes, I know what replaygain is.

is there a program that will actually change the volume of a flac file so that one doesn't have to use replaygain during playback?  I mean, I know I *could* use wavgain before encoding to flac.

thanks

Related question: How do you apply replaygain to a FLAC file encoded without --replay-gain?

Please don't say flac -dc input.flac | flac --replay-gain -o output.flac ...

Edit: Stupidly omitted some options

does that work in album mode or does it apply only track gain?

The wiki link you were given links to this page that has usage info:

Specify 'a' to use the album gain, or 't' to use the track gain

note: This switch might still exist only in an experimental state. I found no mention of it in online documentation.

metaflac --add-replay-gain

(this switch just adds the meta tags...)

it's there but commented out  that option is probably permanent.

Please keep it permanent. I use it daily before I convert into ogg vorbis since HW players do not know replaygain.

Squeezebox does apparently.

I just use foobar2k to apply replaygain to my flac files before converting to mp3 or the ipod which retains the info.
