Cant get asio working in Winamp

Hey guys, i have a chaintech av-710 and im trying to get asio output working for specifically winamp. i installed asio4all and in the offline settings thing its saying that the av-710 is beyond logic? needless to say, when i set winamp to asio output it doesnt play the songs. can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

Sorry, but since there allready is a DirectKS output plugin for Winamp available, then i really don't see the point in using a DirectKS wrapper like ASIO4ALL, which just wraps the ASIO commands to DirectKS anyways...

Steve Monks DirectKS output plugin v3.5 for Winamp :

I'd recommend getting a sound card with native (driver level) asio support or go with kernel streaming (your milage may vary).

It does work!

Make sure you have the latest ASIO4ALL. I had the latest Via Envy HT24 (?)  drivers as well as of end of last year. Make sure you set sample rate to Auto, select PCM out (no auto switching) and that digital out is enabled.

Unfortunately don't have the card anymore but it does work.

Whoa! big deal, they suc , go EMU they are right on, i have the 1820 and remember all the RF frequencies inside your computer with a PCI card, go with a breakout box that has the audio processing in it... this is actually a dual audio processing unit, IT ROCKS!

Nah, definitely don't set that

Hmm, all I remember is I had to change those settings after installing ASIO4ALL then restart. Once I'd done that ASIO4ALL showed green on in/out for the card. What does ASIO4ALL show for your card?

Is it just ASIO in Winamp or is ASIO4ALL not working? If ASIO4ALL is working and enabled it'll show green on the input and outputs.

Then use this (http://otachan.com/out_asio(dll).html) I can never get the .exe version working in Winamp. I always up the buffer to 63 and turn on gapless.

It took me a bit of playing around to get it working.

at first when i open up asio4all it says beyond logic for the sound card. after just changing the buffer size up or down though, it goes green on both input and output but it still wont work to play sound. Can you go through step by step with everything i need to do? im pretty sure ive done everything correctly and tried almost everything.

Edit: i restarted and now even changing the buffer size in asio4all wont turn it green, it stays on beyond logic.

Hmm, well I don't have the card anymore but I seem to remember the steps were (roughly). I was using the digital out so not sure what will happen with analogue.

1. S/PDIF is enabled in the panel
2. Sample rate is auto (not 44.1 or 48)
3. PCM only is checked
4. Definitely don't have hi-sample rate enabled
5. Restart
6. Check ASIO4ALL, on mine it would be green at this stage.

If this doesn't work, keep messing with older driver versions etc. At one point I was going a bit mad as it stopped working with the same driver version as I had before a rebuild. It was only through randomly messing with the drivers that eventually sorted it.

Good luck! If you can't get it sorted there's an envy 24 thread on here somewhere:
