Which bitrate for mono?

I use Lame 3.97b1 to transcode movie soundtracks from AC3.
My usual command line (in foobar 0.9b) is -S -b 160 -h - %d
Now, I've got one mono track to transcode (AC3 192k - 2 channels but they are the same, I'll use foobar's downmix-to-mono DSP), do you think 80k is okay or will I loose quality compared to 160k stereo?

With 2 channels Lame is making use of the redundancy between both channels.
In mono you have no redundancy (of course), so you will need more than half the bitrate.
I'd say about 112kbps in your case.

Thanks I'll probably be using 112k then =)
In fact I was suspecting It'd need a higher bitrate, but wasn't 100% sure as -h alone will encode stereo at 128k and mono at 64k.

Maybe it was this way because mono is more likely to be speech or some lo-fi material.
