AAC Player for Palm Devices?

Are there any AAC players available for Palm devices? Do they support .m4a files? What about AAC-HE audio files?

It supports LC AAC inside M4A. Dunno about HE AAC.

I am not sure that the Core Media Player (ex-betaplayer) plays AAC files because
the documentation does not mention that. It supports MPEG-4 video, MP3, Ogg Vorbis
etc. but there is no mention of AAC audio...

Aeroplayer offers AAC support in the .m4a container, but I don't know about HE encodings.  Here is what their [a href="http://www.aerodrome.us/aeroplayer/]site[/url] has to say:

I tested both the Kinoma Player and the Aeroplayer and they can play AAC files,
including the .m4a files encoded by iTunes. The only problem I noticed with the
Kinoma Player is that it cannot play audio files in the background like Aeroplayer.
Probably because it is mainly supposed to be a video player.

TCPMP seems to be the most complete player in terms of codec support which is what I have been looking for over some time. I am surprised i did not find this before. I did see Aeroplayer before but it is not complete as it is missing mpc support. (Why is it so damn hard to find something that supports AAC/Musepack simultaneously, there are tons of offerings that do either or  ). However, while the project maintainers did pull the binary aac plugin for it, the source is still available. The question now is, does anyone here have the proficiency to compile palm applications? I took a stab at it and quickly became mired down in all the developmental prerequisites. Apparently it takes a customized, highly tweaked variant of gcc to get things going. This project would be a perfect candidate for rarewares, in fact there really should be a palm/pocket pc section on rarewares. In the meantime, does anyone here have an older version of tcpmp with the functional aac plugin? I should be able to take the prc and just dump it in with the rest of them.

Well, if people start sending me Palm/PPC binaries to host at RareWares, I will have no problem creating a "Handheld" section. But I don't have the tools to compile them nor the devices to test them, so I can't do it myself.

I have discovered that mytreo.net is hosting a version of tcpmp with the functional aac plugin still in it. I have downloaded and would be happy to contribute it to rarewares

Well, I don't think every single person using TCPMP needs the AAC functionality as well - I suppose most need only MP3 and MPEG4 video.

But no worries, I have hundreds of gigabytes of bandwidth to spare, thanks to several friends.
