mp3gain question.

Hi there,

Does mp3 gain and replaygain interfere with each other if a file was mp3gain
and replay gained ?

Short answer: no

Long answer: They're the same thing. MP3Gain is changing the MP3 directly by performing the ReplayGain algorithim on it, adjusting the Mp3, then saving ReplayGain tags to the file.

I see, is this still the case if the you select not to save the tags while mp3gaining the
tracks ?

I see, is this still the case if the you select not to save the tags while mp3gaining the

Saving the tags is an undo feature that will allow you to undo the changes that are made.  That's why it gives you the big "NO UNDO" message if you have it set not to save tags.

The "undo" tag MP3Gain adds also contains a more precise Replay Gain value.
If a player is capable of reading APEv2 tags and utilizes Replay Gain then it will use the value contained from the tag otherwise it uses the levels within the post-MP3Gained file.

Players capable of reading these values from the tags:
