Mic Problem

Hello,
I have my mic plugged into the microphone port on my computer, but for some reason when I talk over it, it plays what I am saying over my speakers. Does anyone know a fix for this or why it might be doing that? I was messing around with plugging my guitar into my computer and when I put it back it was like this, but it wasn't doing it before.

in volume control, mute the mic?
