Help choosing a format

I'm looking for a lossless format with good tagging and decent compression. The basic need I have is I need winamp's media library to read those tags when it imports the files so that when I import it, all the data goes into the library correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flac is the best overall with more support in the broadest range of devices.  Tagging is very good too.

Thanks for all the input guys; I've tried tagged flacs with winamp before and it didn't work but that was before 5.x so I'll try again.

Thanks again.
