Just out of curiosity what is this dissertation about exactly?
What kind of course/school/uni is this for?

If this is for a dissertation, I would highly advise throwing together a quick web form for this survey.  1) HA users are in no way indicitive of the general population. 2) You'd get a much larger, statistically significant return.

I think HA is only one out of the many forums he would have asked to participate in his survey. I agree that the responses here would skew his results though.
