It does since version 3.40, and then there's still the 7-zip archiver itself.

Better user original [a href="http://www.7-zip.org]7-zip[/url], or more GUI-advanced  TUGzip (which I like the most), or ZipGenius because they are freeware (like Foobar2000 itself), not commercial shareware like WinRAR.

I think your missing the point. I could leave it as .dll, but then columns ui would be 200KB download. I could use .rar/.zip, but then I cant externally link the file.

Of course I don't know about specifics of your webspace provider. Is renaming an option or does it look into the header of files? Anyway, I updated my winrar and everything is fine, thank you for the winrar hint...

I'd like to recommend FilZip, the archiver/extractor that replaced all my others.

But why is renaming .zip to .zip_ or something better than using .7z? You can still use WinRAR to extract your 7z archives, and at the same time you get smaller downloads and probably faster decompression.

7-zip provides the best size reduction, considering.

The Firefox windows installer is compressed using 7-zip.

I was using for more than a year 7-zip (original), but one thing I didn't like was that it weasn't possible to drag&drop from 7-zip to an explorer window. Tugzip is really a cool appz, very user-friendly. Thanks for the tip

Yeah, interface for original 7-zip could be improved a bit ;-)
