How to Use Database Restrictions?

What is the right way to use the Database "Restrict directories to:" and "Restrict file types to:" functions?

I want to tell the database to only remember files of types "*.OGG;*.MP3;*.WMA" in the following directories "C:\Docume~1\User\MyDocu~1\MyMusi~1\RioKar~1\Librar~1\;C:\Docume~1\User\MyDocu~1\MyMusi~1\Musics~1\Emusic\".

Seems straight-forward enough, but when I set any values in these two boxes, the database remembers nothing.  If I clear the two boxes, it works as I expect.

I'd like to restrict what goes in the database so that any random track I play, but don't want to keep, doesn't get stored.

Advice appreciated, thanks...

could you try changing your directory structure to something like
C:\RioKar~1\Librar~1\
and
C:Musics~1\Emusic\
and see if that fixes the problem
Who are you and how did you get in here ?

Are the files from those directories stored in your foobar2000 with short (8.3) filenames? foobar2000 normally uses long filenames, so you should also use long filenames in the "Restrict directories to:" field.
