ACM Wrapper

A friend of mine give me the other day a movie and asked me to try to converted it in order to be capable for his dvd-divx stand-alone player to open it. The problem is that when I demuxed the audio track with virtualdubmod and tried to convert the audio file to a mp3 one, I couldn't open it. He told me that it was compressed using Acm Wrapper, or sth similar. I've tried to use several software but I haven't able to re-compress it.
Any idea or help?
Thanx and bye!

"ACM Wrapper" isn't a codec, it's just a translation filter which connects your audio source to a Windows ACM (Audio Compression Manager) codec.  You must determine the format of the compressed audio, then download the appropriate ACM codec.  (Whatever it is, your friend has it but you don't.)

VirtualDubMod's "File Information" dialog will show you the tag number for the audio codec.  If by chance the tag number is 0x2000, then you need AC3ACM.
May the FOURCC be with you...
