How to toggle Mono / Stereo output with a remote

Hello,

I would like to be able to toggle mono or stereo output with a simple button, just like you can do it on any decent piece of preamplifier - except high ends ones

People will answer me : simple to do when you have a keyboard : just go to the Preferences menu and activate/deactivate the Downmix channels to mono DSP.

I am using Girder and I want to do it via my remote control. Does anyone have any idea on how this can be done? I don't think it is possible to assign shortcuts.
Maybe by creating different foobar configurations and restarting Foobar with the right one?

Thanks for your help.
