In addition Oddsock have released a new Oddcast DSP for Jack:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've finally release 3.0.0 of OddcastV3, the next generation source client encoder. In addition to the winamp/foobar plugin, I've also released oddcastv3_jack. Jack is an audio server on linux -http://jackit.sourceforge.net -. I've decided to use this as an alternative to coding the XMMS plugin again. I think this should suffice for everyone's linux needs.

Here are the links:

This version of oddcastv3 allows you to hook into any jack output port
and broadcast the audio to an icecast or shoutcast server.

This version of oddcastv3 is all command-line oriented, and comes with
example config files for each of the encoding types supported (Ogg Vorbis,
LAME, AAC).  You will most likely need to take one of the example configs
(in the conf dir) and modify it to suit your needs.

This feature alone has me completely stoked.  I can't wait to try this.

Thank you, Oddsock!

At this time it seems support are limited to libfaac, if I've understood this right....

Follow up of last posting: Now there are AAC+ support added to OddcastV3 through Winamp enc_aacplus plugin. But it seems this can only be used with the Shoutcast server, not Icecast2. Not yet, anyways....

Details here.

I've been testing the new oddcast with foobar and icecast and it seems to work fine.  It streams fine and foobar plays it back fine.  Not sure if the PS is functioning properly,  but's definetaly HE-AAC.

I can confirm that it's working with Foobar and Icecast with PS. Winamp also plays it fine.

Yes, I don't know what I did wrong the first time....    Now I got an aacplus (HE-AAC+PS) stream up and running nice with foobar2000 and Icecast2.
