Opus ABX Test

Has anyone done a abx Test of opus @ 96,128,144,160,192 Of Transparency In 2024 or 2025 Since we're almost done with the year
I had A Bunch Of FLAC And Hi-Res And Conveted them all to @192 and I Can't Hear A Difference (I'm using Apple Earpods And Player I'm using is Poweramp Output AAudio)

I wouldn't mind seeing listening tests all the way up to 320, just for posterity. I also encode at 192 stereo, 384 quadraphonic, and 512 for 5.1, and everything sounds great, but I'm losing my hearing past 15 khz. I mostly want to make sure it sounds good to those that have better ears than me. I use Sennheiser HD598Cs on a Yamaha HTR-5450 via optical TOSlink.

For what is worth: I listen to pop, rock, but quite a bit of classical at 140 bps stereo. I had done no ABX, but I never found a problem. I have done some 1000 albums at this. 140 bsp is chosen by me to have an extra bandwidth on the top of 128 bsp stereo, which is apparently good enough.

did update foobar to 64bit install newest opusenc and abx few tracks. and yes 144kbps no idea what is what anymore.

my first abx tests ever. very useful. my opus files 192->144kbps from now on. no more mp3 for sure 144 vs 320

 :D

edit: i have feeling that something is lacking now even can not say what is that. but for hearin my bitrate opus is 144 tranparent. maybe need few extra bits for paranormal dimensions of music

feels like music did come alive again. 160kbps my personal minimum now. abx good idea just add little extra bits and forget it. 16kbps extra enough for me. now...will see just wait. this was wirh slow easy blues rock gendre. when we get to metal genre...in metal high tones that can not even hear can be important for feeling. tones from other side. the dark side. use more bits Luke

Just so everyone is the know, by "compile/recompile" you mean "encode/re-encode", right?
• Listen to the music, not the media it's on
• The older, the 'lossier'

not really so. it is converting actually

It's definitely not "compiling".

I think prior ABX tests here show that OPUS 96kbps per channel should be superior to V0 LAME MP3, so that is why it is my standard. Of course only you can decide what sounds best to you.
