Playback > Output > UPnP MediaRenderer Output

To change the target renderer use the 'Output Switcher' on the toolbar.

As I said I'm new to foobar2000.  What I want to do is enable foobar2000 to be a Media Server.

Is there an article that goes through the steps.  I thought I had one, but it was 2 years old.  It seems that the media server needs to be configured so it will be seen on my home network.

I want to be able to use a Windows mini-PC as a server.  Store my music on it.  This will have a good USB DAC added for playback to my amp and speakers with a remote connection via ethernet audio extenders to my current surround system (75' away).

Connect to it via an android smartphone A14 running the foobar2000 app.

I want to use the smartphone foobar2000 app to control playback via playlists.

Some day when my Bose Lifestyle S48 dies I will replace it with something more current gen.  It is a great sound system but an island.  No connectivity.

The only way to turn foobar into a server/control point/renderer is to use the legacy component foo_upnp which only works with foobar x86.

Connect to it via an android smartphone A14 running the foobar2000 app.
The foobar mobile app isn't a UPnP control point, it's a player, so this isn't possible. Perhaps Beefweb? If you wanted a generic UPnP app you could try BubbleUPnP for Android or mconnect for iOS to cast to the renderer (foobar).

Maybe someone can suggest better options than foobar for this use case.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Just got the beefweb component installed and running.  On a tablet it works great.  Smartphone screen is small.  This will solve all my primary needs.  I will set foobar2000 to auto start when system boots.

Are there any plans to make the foo_out_upnp work on the 64-bit version of foobar2000 to enable the media server?

Inside our home users would like to play music over the phone.

I believe the author has stated a number of times that it's not going to happen.

The BubbleUPnP app (from the author of foo_out_upnp) allows you to browse UPnP servers and then either play it locally or cast it to UPnP/Chromecast renderers, so that's an option.

Could you connect something like a WiiM Mini to the Bose? This way you'd just need a media server on the PC.

Thanks to all for the help.

I was using the wrong UPnP component.  So now I have the following working.
foobar2000 - v2.1.15 - 32 bit version
UPnP/DLNA Renderer, Server, Control point 0.99.49 foo_upnp
Beefweb Remote Control 0.8 foo_beefweb

Now ripping many CD and looking at other formats then buying the DAC.  Looking at a
