Newbie questions - fb desktop and fb mobile

I am building my setup around Foobar2000 and I have a few questions. I've read tons of threads to learn how it works. But can't wrap my head around the difference between the playback queue and the current playlist. For context, I am using the default UI. I've installed a few components to work with my use case. And I have created a completely custom layout using the editor.

When I select Send to or Add to Current Playlist in the right click menu, I see that the track shows up in my Current Playlist. But when I select Play Next or Add to Playback Queue, I see that the track shows up in my Queue Item box and I can't seem to be able to connect the two. Any help is appreciated.

In addition - I want to set up my Foobar2000 (fb) desktop application to play to my AVR using HDMI but I want to use fb mobile app on my iPhone. I already have MonkeyMote that allows me to play/pause etc. Is it correct to say that there is no way to add/update playlists on the mobile and have them show up on the desktop (or vice versa?). Is it also correct to assume that I can't search and select a song on the mobile app (or MonkeyMote) and queue it up for playback on the desktop?

Is there a way to make Smart Playlists - like the songs I've never played, or played recently, or 3 stars, etc?

Finally, I intend to externalize my desktop library using my subdomain and then connect to it using fb mobile app. Is there a recommended way of doing that? I can technically connect to the home network using tailscale and use the desktop library like a 'home' installation. I would like to use the smart playlists using my iPhone.

Update - I just discovered Georgia Reborn skin. It addresses some of my requirements out of the box. Like filtering by Lossless, Recently Played, Never played, etc. Pretty amazing. The look is gorgeous! Kudos to the team!
