Experiencing Noise In Audio Output When Starting VMWare Virtual Machine

This was not always happening, but it has started happening recently.  Windows 11 Professional had a recent update that very well could have introduced this.  I am experiencing it under both WASAPI exclusive and ASIO.  While fb2k is playing audio to my DAC, I hear audible noise when starting a virtual machine under VMWare Workstation.  This is VMWare Workstation version 17.5.2 build-23775571.  My VMWare guest VM is Windows 11 Professional with the latest update that matches my host OS.  I have absolutely removed USB from the virtual machine setup thinking it may be a USB conflict of some type, but this has not helped.  I still hear noise when starting the virtual machine or shutting it down.

I have tons of memory with tons free:  192GB with only 11% used with fb2k playing media.  With VMWare virtual machine running, this changes to 24% memory used with 46/192GB.  I still have tons of free memory available even with fb2k running with my super large buffer configuration.  This is a workstation class computer with an i9 14900K Intel CPU.

Other than starting and stopping the virtual machine, playback works perfectly in all other regards.

I have 64-bit fb2k installed version 2.1.5.  I have the latest of all components installed as shown below.

Any ideas for this recent problem?  I blame Microsoft's Windows 11 update.  As I stated, this was not happening until recently.

I just reproduced the noise starting my virtual machine to gather memory statistics.  The noise sounds like old fashioned vinyl static pops of a turntable.
