Hi, I can't figure out how to rotate the graph. I would like to display it on its side like my fb1.6 layout with foo_uie_vis_channel_spectrum.

Rotation is not implemented. You can mirror the graph on the x and/or y axis but the frequency axis will always be horizontal.

Reason: while Direct2D can easily rotate graphics on any angle text gets rotated at same time.

Okay I understand. Hope you consider implementing, I don't have a problem with rotated text.

I've have updated my own frequency bands spectrum project to add "Analysis" peak decay mode (which is calculated in linear amplitude scale and scaled to logarithmic or nth root within specified dB range afterwards when drawing peaks), which is more consistent with foo_enhanced_spectrum_analyzer and you might be interested on adding that

Does anyone have a preset that exactly matches the behaviour of the built-in Spectrum?

Hi guys!
Does it work on windows 8.1?
I've read old discussion in this thread. And respected Case put some code to bypass win10 restriction.
But the last working version for me is v0.7.2.0 (for win8.1 x64, fb2k v2.1.5 x64).

Could you please clarify can it work on win 8.1?

I don't exclude OS versions intentionally but I have no way to test that.

I'm ready to assist.
Also I hit on an idea that you could use virtual machine with win 8, or win 7 to test some things.
What do you think?

I already have too little time. Why would I spend time on old operating systems?

At first you wrote that you "have no way to test that", so I propose some options.
Why do you make this plugin (for whom)?

Sorry everyone if I don't read all the 36 pages, but: Is this component also available as a VST plugin?

I want to use it in my DAW. As spectrum analyzer, this is way better than Voxengo SPAN. No kidding! :D

Obviously not available as a VST plugin, much like foo_enhanced_spectrum_analyzer

Hi there, I notice the usual chatter about plugins on here, although this is the more impressive feat. of analogue modelling I have seen since it uses frame stoppage and many presets.. I was hoping maybe you can implement something software of the likes Goldwave features.. which is a X-Y graph scheme of audio signaling, it uses some "noise signals" as a contour map but the frequency is bundled more like a time-domain of newer sound analysis that convolves to blur the signal more.. precisely this is doing it.. however, it is related to the latest signal processing of digital synthesis which uses a fourier lossy function "handler" and a planar processing feature which is the latest of EQ and audio enthusiasts.. since it does all the work as a visual stimulis experiment rather than usual "sinthome" of recording approaches in past that only gates and change how the recorded sound is written thus far but newer approaches might benefit sound fidelity by a lot since it extracts more than replicates. and I don't use C++ myself, perhaps I will look into it myself soon to contribute.. thank you for software!   ;D

BTW: I included my custom preset I use.. high shelving is useful for seeing subtle difference of bandwidth change.

Not nice. If you feel strongly that older OSes should be supported. The code is freely available: clone, build, debug. Fire up those VMs!

I'll look at it later. I'm a little preoccupied with foo_uie_webview now.

Because foobar2000 is compatible with Windows 7 and 8.
Because many people are still using these OSes, maybe because they can't afford a new computer or because they is no reason to bin something which is still working fine, and also because many people don't want to use anymore the giant spywares that Windows 10 and 11 have become, especially Windows 11.

But, once again, foobar2000 is compatible with Windows 7 and 8 so the components must be compatible as well.

Oh look. It's another entitled twat who thinks a developer should not be able to choose how they spend their own free time. How delightful.

I somewhat agree with this point, unless the component must use a feature not available (directx 12 for ex), components should try to support the same OSes than main program and not just nuke support without a strong reason for it.

But as far as I have read that's not the case, since the dev just said it's a matter of lacking time. I would also be volunteer to test it on win7 if needed though.

There is a software on github to patch dlls/exes and add missing methods on win7 / win 8 to be compatible with later versions. That may help you @palash (at least it has helped me with a lot of sotware but mainly focused on electron-built software).

He asked a question, I've put an answer. Just my 2 cents.
Insults are no help in any case anyway. Especially from someone who is not the developer of this component.

[...]  I was hoping maybe you can implement something software of the likes Goldwave features.. which is a X-Y graph scheme of audio signaling, [...]

Also, I think it might use a polarity map but very likely contour map is useful for certain maps (perhaps a stereoscopic between channel(s) is useful!) along with spectrogram bitmapping for an in-depth examination of sound, possibly to surmise 3D of liking Germany's software Visual Analyzer 2022 that can be found for free now, since it does additive transforms similar to Ian Curtis' given concept of CMS design but as a -scopic sound instead to render...

This is the problem I reported in the past.

I made a video where you can understand what happened.

Upon startup everything works correctly and the artwork always pops up and the coloring of the elements is also correct.

Simply select another track from the playlist and only one panel continues to behave correctly, while the others do not update correctly.
