How to save the foobar configuration

HI.

As time goes on my foobar setup gets more and more complex. Fields that require titleformatting now consist of texts of several lines.

Since I'm afraid of losing all this work due to a PC malfunction, I would like to know:
  • where are the foobar configuration files saved?
  • is there an AUTOMATIC way to save the foobar configuration in a single text file? (tried foo_jesus but couldn't get it to work)

Press SHIFT and open the menu "File -> Browse configuration folder"

You can't put the configuration into a text file. You need to backup the whole configuration folder.

In general you can foo_jesus for the backup, but it's quite old and the default settings needs to be adjusted to cover the configuration of current versions. The main purpose of foo_jesus is to save the configuration automatically and making snapshots of it while foobar2000 is running. Up to version 1.6.x the automatic saving of the configuration was only done on application shutdown, so that configuration changes got lost in case of a crash.

With the upcoming version 2.0 foo_jesus becomes more or less obsolete as configuration changes are mostly saved immediately (3rdparty components needs to be migrated to support this) and the backup of the configuration should be included into your standard backup procedure. Only for creating snapshots joo_jesus can still be useful, but it will most likely not be available for the 64bit version and so far no replacement exists.

Press SHIFT and open the menu "File -> Browse configuration folder" ...

How many other "secret doors" are there?

You can't put the configuration into a text file. You need to backup the whole configuration folder.

"Backup the whole configuration folder."

Does that also work between different architectures?

Meaning, if I run Fb2k 2.1.6 64 bit, can I backup that folder and then use it in an 32 bit Fb2k 2.1.6 installation or will something go of the rails?
My main concern, similar to poster #1, is all that title formatting and other types of settings you do in "Preferences", not so much the other stuff.
