iPod Manager Plugin and Metadata

I recently pulled out my iPod and synced my entire music library on it. The iPod is modified with 512GB of flash storage, and the process took overnight.

In the iPod Manager preferences I set up a substitution for the Artist tag to the Album Artist tag.  But idiot me, did not put in %albumartist%. Instead I typed the words Album Artist.

The sync ran overnight and when I woke up, the software did exactly as I instructed it to do. I now had an entire iPod full of music all with only one artist named "Album Artist."

Since I made this boneheaded mistake, I am trying to find a way to fix this without doing another overnight sync.

So I went into Files->Preferences->Tools->iPod Manager and set the field Artist to map to %albumartist%. Then I went into File->iPod and chose "Rewrite Database." and then "Eject iPod." Sadly, everything is still under one artist named Album Artist.

Is there any easy fix for this, or do I need to wipe the iPod and start over again?

Go to File/iPod/Load library, then select all the loaded tracks and there should be an 'iPod/Update metadata' command in the context menu to sort that out.

So, now my Artist is "?" on the iPod. I need to keep playing with this.

Sadly, I think I may need to abandon this as a method of iPod Syncing.  Gapless playback is giving me a lot of grief. I'm trying to play The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, which is a gapless album. The switch from track 1 to track 2 has a slight hiccup in it, showing it's not playing gapless. And the switch from track 2 to track 3 completely locks up the iPod and I need to force reboot it. The only thing I have gotten to fix this issue in the past is to use iTunes to sync my music and not use a third party tool.
