foo_uie_lyrics3 - v0.5 - help with configuration recovery

Hi,

I am looking for help with config recovery, for the plugin foo_uie_lyrics3 - v0.5, to downloading song lyrics from the internet.

Can anyone help me how to restore the Lyric Show 3 configuration ? Automatic song lyrics download does not work. There is not possible to add or edit URLs. I think it has already been addressed somewhere in this discussion that this is a problem of an unfinished and old plugin. Therefore, I want to at least try to reset the settings of this plugin.

This is specifically the following plugin:
Quote
foo_uie_lyrics3 0.5
Currently developed by The_Vern.
Based on "foo_uie_lyrics" by bluenet,
with improvements by T.P. Wang and Michel87.

Build Date: Mar 18 2016 16:04:03
With ColumnsUI API version: 6.3

List of all my plugins (spoiler):
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Thanks.

BTW, my older post is here: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=118148.msg975186#msg975186 (UNSOLVED !)

1.  Install the Lyrics Show 3 plugin

2.  Install the Foo_multisource plugin (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IJ509Gy0XPLitF5oStNmcVdCN2JlUUSZ/view?usp=sharing)

3.  In the LSP3 searching panel,  move all the sources prefaced "NEW DB" to the left panel (Search Order), and everything else to the right panel (Available Sources), except for "Tag Search"--keep that one on top.  "Associations Search" is not movable, keep it at the bottom of Search Order.

4.  Configure the rest of LSP3 to your liking.

Perfect ! It works the way you write !

What do these "NEW DB" search engines mean ?

And what is the plugin foo_multisource actually for ? Is this plugin also freely available on the official Foobar2K feed ?

Thanks !

foo_multisource component for Foobar2000 + LSP3

total lyric sources: 11

netease
metallum
deezer
genius
musixmatch

Also, you can try a new component for lyrics https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_openlyrics

The multisource plugin's "NEW DB" search engines are replacements and additions to the old sources that were supplied with LSP3 that don't work anymore;  the name refers to the site they search.

Foo_multisource is not available in the official Foobar plugin repository, it's a free closed-source contribution by one individual (Foobar username "veksha").

As shown by Koshingg the amount of sources exceed the ones available with foo_openlyrics;  additionally, the multisource + LSP3 combo retrieve lyrics from radio stream broadcasts as well, if they send track metadata.  Foo_openlyrics does NOT have that capability at the present time.

That's right, I noticed that this plugin can also transmit info artist + song title name, received from the online stream (radio).

However, this is a bug directly in Foobar2K. I've already added it to the wish list, for the Foobar2K developers, but it hasn't passed yet.

The problem is that, for example, the %artist% and %title% variables can be obtained from the currently playing MP3 song. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pull from an online live stream to which the %artist% and %title% items are streamed on the fly. I think the %artist% and the %title% of the song are sent regularly, by the broadcaster, I think at short intervals, while streaming online radio or when changing/starting to play the song. Precisely for this reason, the problem is to get the %artist% and the %title% variables, for the purpose of inserting the item into a search engine.

As for the closed source code in the foo_multisource plugin, I don't trust it very much. This plugin is suspiciously large (1 MB). There can be many algorithms that, for example, track what files you have on your PC (not just music). In addition, the plugin acquires a free license as open source. No one has seen this code. So no one can claim to be safe. Unfortunately.

No, there is no bug to fix. I already responded to your post about this in the feature requests thread...

https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=116509.msg1000333#msg1000333

It's been possible via the SDK since forever. I've posted exactly how in this comment on the foo_openlyrics github issue....

@s3n0 I have a component that has 3 MB, and others are larger than 1 MB...
foo_multisource plugin it's not an obscure plugin downloaded from who knows where... It's an official foobar component, obviously from the foobar home site. This means that is highly highly unlikely that this component has a dark side and it's spying our files from our pc... or our Christmas tree :)
You must also remember that foo_uie_lyrics3 it's not developed anymore, basically a dead component in the future. foo_multisource on the other hand it's a new component, new features are added every 2 or 3 months. I have both components installed, I need both. So, it's your choice, use what you want.

Actually it is not included in the Foobar component repository;  you can verify this by checking https://www.foobar2000.org/components .

That said, I agree with the rest of your assessment of foo_multisource.  It is a must-have for my use, rings no bells on my antivirus/firewall, and smooth as silk in operation.  The author occasionally posts on the forum https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=90338.0 , and maintains a "news" presence on Reddit here:  https://www.reddit.com/r/foobar2000/comments/o7ua73/lyric_show_panel_3_lyrics_from_genius_musixmatch/ .

Careful with the word "official". That only applies to components created by Peter.

https://www.foobar2000.org/components/author/Peter

For everything else, you are utterly reliant on the good faith of developers even if they are hosted on the foobar2000.org components page.

Hi, @sveakul You're right, foo_multisource it's not an official component, sorry  (I made a confusion between OpenLyrics and foo_multisource, haha :D )
But it's used in many foobar configurations, so I doubt there's something wrong. Also, without foo_multisource then basically foo_uie_lyrics3 it's dead, because you'll not find lyrics.
As I said there is another option:  lyric component, for @s3n0 (if he wants to use it) https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_openlyrics
foo_openlyrics has horizontal scrolling (foo_uie_lyrics3 can't do that).

@marc2k3 thanks for explaining.

Hi.

I have a problem again.

In this combination foobar2K 2.0 (x86) + foo_uie_lyrics 0.5 + foo_multisource 0.55.

It often happens that the "LYRICS" ID3-TAG is lost from the MP3 file. Instead of data (song lyrics), this TAG is modified automatically (at a random time, for example once every few hours) and only the dot "." character appears and is saved !

I don't know why this is happening. Of course, automatic saving of song lyrics to MP3 is always disabled.

This is probably a compatibility issue with the new version of Foobar2K v2.0.

Does anyone know what to do with it ? Thanks !

First, update to foo_multisource .56.

Also be sure that in addition to un-checking "Enable automatic save," that under "Save method" you have also chosen "Don't save."
