Thank you Peter. I understand the Advanced Search function in Foobar2000 mobile only works on music downloaded on my iPad. It would be very useful to be able to use this function on my NAS music library. Is that possible?

Hi Peter, can Foobar2000 be configured to use the Advanced Search function on my NAS music library?

Did this ever get resolved? My iPhone 4s (IOS9) sees my Router USB music drive, but the iPhone 6s (IOS15) does not. Should I try deleting the App and reinstalling on the iPhone 6s?

Hello
I use Foobar for years on all my devices and since yesterday foobar can’t find my media server, a Synology NAS where I have all my music files.
Searching for devices.... on LOCAL NETWORK.Nothing found.
It’s the same on my Android smartphone and on my Android tablet.
I unistalled it and reinstalled the app. But my NAS is still invisible.
What happens?

How have you confirmed that the Synology NAS media sharing is still working? There have been no updates to Android version of foobar2000 for quite some time, so the problem is quite certainly either in the network or in the source.

My NAS is detected by all other apps. I downloaded another music player and it detects my network and the NAS as soon as I installed it. All the files of the NAS are accessible by all my apps. Only foobar can’t detect the network on all my devices.

So you are saying things stopped working without you doing anything. How exactly do you try to connect to the NAS with foobar2000? And how do you connect with some example program that works?

Exact.
To coonect I go to Browse page of foobar then Media servers then under Local Network.
habitually there is the name of my NAS at this place but now there is ”searching for devices...”

The new media player I installed is Samba Player. It works fine but I’m more familiar with foobar for many years on my PC smartphone and tablet. It works on my PC but it connects by Ethernet not wifi.
For me foobar is the best to listen to music.

This thread was started by people who had UPnP issues. that's why I wanted clarification from you what you are doing. It sounds like you don't use UPnP but SMB shares.

The very bottom of mobile foobar2000 preferences dialog has option to disable SMB discovery, perhaps you have accidentally turned it off.

Other than that I'm out of ideas. I don't know how foobar2000 SMB discovery works and until recently I didn't even know it supports automatically finding them. It has never worked for me on iOS or on Android. I have to manually enter SMB connection details. UPnP searching on the other hand always works fine.

Edit: perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but you don't need to rely on automatic discovery to enjoy your music. I'd recommend setting a static IP to your NAS, add it manually to your media library and enjoy the music.

SMB discovery is ON.
I have a static IP on my NAS.
I added it in the media library manually. Foobar says adress added but no file nowhere in the app.
Only internal and external storage available. No media server files.
