Ring DAC?

The company dCS builds something they call "Ring DAC" but they don't really explain what it is, just that "It offers excellent linearity, most notably at the low levels where other DACs fail, and as a result delivers unrivalled technical performance." And I have no idea what they mean.

Of course you can sell audiophiles almost everything if you just write "linearity" and "proprietary" and "high definition" on the product.
