clicking the album list used to auto add the album to the playlist - but alas...

Something went wrong with my hard drive and my theme file got corrupted. So I loaded a backup but for some reason, my foobar is not completely as it was. I don't remember quite how I configured the thing originally - been listening to music for a few years without needing to know. Thanks for any advice.

I want to be able to click on an album or multiple albums in the album playlist column and have all their content appear instantly in my playlist window, having replaced anything else which was there before (as opposed to adding to the list cumulatively).

I am using Columns UI if that is relevant.

For me, it ends up too much work having to 'add to playlist' just to rapidly skim or browsing contents of albums.

I understand those who like to be deliberate and not disturb the current playlist just because they are sniffing around other albums but I am prepared to accept a more volatile scenario where I might check out of an album while browsing another.

....that said - it would be nice to have an instant display of all the tracks in a given album (s) in a custom tab - -  which does 'not' actually influence the current playlist.  That could satisfy the sniffing around/deciding what to hear next urge without losing all listening continuity.

...appreciated

Presumably you are referring to Album list panel, not album playlist which isn't a thing.

Try enabling 'File/Preferences/Media Library/Library viewer selection playlist'.

That was it - fantastic, thanks.
