How to get a printed list of albums sorted by artist plus album cover?

Hi, dear helpers,

I use foobar2000 for a while and I'm impressed of the various features.

What I cannot solve is the following problem: I want to get a printed list of my albums sorted by artist which shows also the album cover.

Can anyone help, please?

Greetings,

merlinuwe

foo_texttools can copy your selection according to a specified tag pattern. You can then paste it into a text editor and print it. No album covers however.

Yes, I found this tool before and missed the album covers.

Is there a way to connect to the database? I think having access to the tab "Filter Results" should give me the information that I need to export such a list.

Not that I know of. If I wanted to make something like you want and with my limited knowledge I would probably use html for that. My album images for example are stored in a separate folder all named %album%.jpg. I would first export all needed meta data info via text tools with the necessary html markup included into the tag pattern, export using html img src=yourimagefolder/%album%.jpg for the covers. If all goes well then you should have a html document with the covers displayed along with the tag info you included in the export script. Of course if your album covers are all stored as "folder" or "cover" in the audio source folder you'd need to change the text tools export script to accommodate that.

Hi...i have a workaround for you:

With facets you make a album view with cover and side or bottom view. Than you mkae a screenshot with scrolling window (works with sharex!) Now you have a foto with all your albums incl covers and infos.

Hello, this is the only reason why I keep other tools like MUSO or Mediamonkey (the latter also having an excellent sync module as well). I wish I had the time and the talent to write something similar in Foobar, but alas I do not have either
If anyone feels like having a shot at that (HTML Catalog  I know there are some sync tools available), it would be the cherry on Fooobar's cake

You can do this with the program MP3Tag using its "Export" function.

After installing MP3Tag, go to this webpage: Export Configuration Archive - Mp3tag Forums -- follow the instructions on that page for installing third-party export configurations.

For a test, let's say we have downloaded and installed this export configuration: html_dano_albumcover

- Start MP3Tag
- `File -> Add Directory...`    (or drag-drop a folder directly onto the list panel in the GUI).
- Select All in the (now populated) list panel
- `File -> Export...`     (`Export configuration` window pops open)
- In `Export configuration`, choose `html_dano_albumcover` from the list -- specify a filename for saving, eg: HTML-Catalog.html -- click OK
- Done ....open the html file in your web browser and have a look.

derty2's suggestion is excellent and you can easily tweak it by editing the html in the mte file. However it seems to only work on a per album basis, as soon as I used it on multiple albums it will group all albums under just one (and thus only showing one album artwork).
