marc2k3:  thanks for the new extended features of your VU meter in JSP3 3.6.9, working great here!

When the "Meter Fever" started, you had posted a script (since removed) for a 4-bar color version retaining the separate peak bars.  This was a cool variation and I have it tabbed and running.  I'm asking if there is any possibility you could add that option again (via a separate script if it couldn't be included in the new sample) only with the new settings you've added like adjustable Peak Hold and maxdB values which the first one was missing?  I'm hoping there are others besides me that would appreciate this.  Thanks for any consideration.

3.6.10 allows gradient bars in the VU Meter via the right click menu. Also includes various other bug fixes.

https://github.com/jscript-panel/release/releases/tag/latest

https://jscript-panel.github.io/docs/changes/

As always, any script errors from included samples on upgrade should be fixed from reloading from the samples button. Sorry for the inconvenience but sometimes it is unavoidable.

edit: 3.6.10 doesn't have breaking changes but 3.6.9 did and not everyone gets every update/reads the change log. :p

Thx.

1) Can there be an option added to change the alignment of the VU Meter from horizontal to vertical?

2) When I display two or more VU Meters do they all share the same configuration? If so, what variables need to be included in the underlying txt scripts to give all instances of VU Meter their own layout?

I have tested the Gradient option and I find the following problem (also in the other options):

- You would have to add a Gradient 3 to be able to use 3 colors as the Rainbow option uses.
- The bars on the right have the same color as Gradient 1. It would be important that the bars on the right also have their own color and do not depend on Gradient 1.

3.6.12

https://github.com/jscript-panel/release/releases/tag/latest

https://jscript-panel.github.io/docs/changes/

This contains an Oscilloscope visualisation but has CPU usage warnings attached. Simply remove if no good.

This required some new APIs which did not exist in the component but I'm too lazy to write documentation for it unless someone can really prove they would be interested in them.

Some but not all of that is exposed...

If anyone has 3.6.12 or 3.6.13, it should be nuked.

I've restored 3.6.11 as the latest here...

https://github.com/jscript-panel/release/releases/tag/latest

I didn't realise until now but this oscilloscope can freeze fb2k when the end of a playlist is reached. Why this happens and not when stopping manually I don't know but I don't have time to figure it out right now.

A huge sorry for the inconvenience.

3.6.14

https://jscript-panel.github.io/docs/changes/

This adds a new Custom mode to the album art right click menu. When enabled, this dialog is available:

Full help text:

The following types are supported:

front_embedded
front_default
front_stub
back_embedded
back_default
back_stub
disc_embedded
disc_default
disc_stub
icon_embedded
artist_embedded
aritst_default
artist_stub

Add/remove/rearrange the order to suit your needs. _default and _stub come from the main foobar2000 album art preferences.

Yeah, that is a known issue - it's only supported in default mode. I really should have mentioned it in the changelog. Sorry about that.

I'll need to write a new component method to handle this new custom mode in the next release.

Re: JScript Panel

The above issue is fixed with a new IMetadbHandle ShowPictureViewer2 method. This is now used by the album art sample.

I also broke a whole bunch of other stuff so many existing scripts need updating from the Samples button. Apologies for the inconvenience.

3.7.1 is just Text Display fixes. They've been updated so all Album Art options are now available

https://github.com/jscript-panel/release/releases/tag/latest

https://jscript-panel.github.io/docs/changes/

And yup, these need reloading too. They'll mostly work if you don't but double click actions won't be respected.  :o

Well some utter fuck wit has got my last.fm api key blocked for excessive usage. I've shared it for years with zero issues so a slow hand clap for whoever has broken it now.

Obviously this breaks last.fm bio, similar artists etc and I'm doing precisely nothing about it. Get your own.

Maybe it was bound to happen as your last.fm based samples became more and more popular over the years and users/usage kept increasing, as opposed to "just some utter fuck wit."  Thanks for sharing your key for so long though.

FWIW the PITA starts here:  https://www.last.fm/api/authentication

Whoa!  That was fast!  JSP3 3.7.3 "Users of Last.fm Bio, Last.fm Bio + Images and Last.fm Artist Info + User Info now need to set their own Last.fm API key via the right click menu".  At least we don't have to start digging in the .js, thanks for making it easy to set.

Well . . .  api key blocked for excessive usage.

Hi @marc2003,
i guess . . .
It would be a mistake to bundle your JSP3 sample last.fm key with the JSP3 [foo_youtube_addon] script. Although I have clearly noted that it is for trial purposes only, I think some people do not know how to change it to their own key or how to apply for a last.fm API key.
i guess, some have been doing so with that key bundled with JSP3's samples for years.

So, please accept my apology if this was  caused by that script, in any shape or form. Instead of waiting for that key to be unlocked, can you please use the following: 9a15798127d9c73dcdd0e24503540d45.

Wish you all the best and looking forward to your valued fb2k component.

Regards,
iLovefb2k

to @all:
please register for a last.fm api key or the [JSP3 foo_youtube_addon] become useless also .  just follow this link [https://www.last.fm/api/account/create], register for a last.fm account and then you are prompted for few questions to get a key.
just in the blink of an eye!!!
Cheer.

Apologies for likely stupid question, but right-click where?

For example, create a new Last.fm Bio + Images Panel.
SHURE SRH1840, SENNHEISER HD660S2, SENNHEISER HD620S, SENNHEISER HD 490 Pro Plus, beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO, HiFiMAN Edition XS, Bowers & Wilkins P7, FiiO FT5, 水月雨 (MOONDROP) 空鳴 - VOID, Nakamichi Elite FIVE ANC, SONY WH1000XM5 (made a Upgrade/Balanced Cable by myself)

After installing JSP3 3.7.3, reload the Sample from it over your existing one, then you'll see it.

I have been using jscript3(Last.fm Bio + Images) without registering as a user of last.fm. Can I use jscript3(Last.fm Bio + Images) after 3.7.3?
Some people don't want to register as last.fm users, so I would like to go back to 3.7.2, is it possible?

No, you can't use it even if you roll back to a previous version.

If you can't get your personal API Key, try using the API Key shared by ilovefb2k.

Yes you can still use the last.fm Bio +Images sample, but the "Bio" portion will not appear without a new API key.  You'll still get the image(s), Tags, Born, Born in, Listeners, Scrobbles. And flag when matched  :)

Reverting to 3.7.2 won't solve anything as it will still have the defunct API key in it.  To restore Bio you'll need to obtain your own API key, or you can use the one shared by ilovefb2k a few posts up, as stated by Kthugs--that one is still working as of today but its lifespan also is in reverse proportion to its usage.
