Playback error

I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 professional. I opened Foobar2000 v1.3.8 and tried to play my playlist. I immedialtely got a playback error message that said: "Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x88880001). This only occurred after upgrading to Windows 10. I also ran the foobar2000 troubleshooter which responded with "No known problematic components found". Is foobar2000 compatable with Windows10? Is there a fix for this?

ERROR:
Foobar 2000 - Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x88880001)

ISSUE:
I had an issue with this since the last Windows 10 update and could not figure out what was causing it until I just out of the blue started changing the default formats in the device properties. Several soundcards failed at once and could not playback any source material (video games, youtube, audio players like foobar 2000). So I assumed the issue had to be with windows.

SOLUTION:
My solution was to change the Default Format from 16 bit, 48000 Hz to 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) on all faulty devices. They started to work right away.

I hope this helps anyone searching for this weird ass issue.
Cheers and good sound to you all.
