How Do I shuffle a playlist?

Hello all,

I know there must be a way and its probably been discussed. Been searching forums for a few an hour or two trying to figure this out.

Is there a way to shuffle or randomize a playlist? Like randomizing the entire list visually?

So say I had all my music in my playlist and I hit a randomize button and would rearrange everything in the playlist? (if that makes sense)

Example:

ARTIST "A"
ARTIST "B"
ARTIST "C"
ARTIST "D"

then randomize

ARTIST "C"
ARTIST "D"
ARTIST "A"
ARTIST "B"

(playing default down the randomized list)

I have been poking around with (trying to figure out) auto playlist, playlist generator, Foo_random, and Random pool... One of these or several of them may do what I want to do.
Anyways if you guys could shed some light on this that would be awesome :-)

My dad is an avid music listener and he loves being able to have a random playlist and seeing what songs are next. I am trying to set up foobar for him (he doesn't love his current audio player) I mean the random or shuffle button is just fine for me, but some people are just particular. ;-)

Thanks Guys (hope this post made sense)

Edit > Sort > Randomize visually shuffles a playlist. The playback order can be Default, Random, Repeat, etc.
